The Black Forest High Road runs for 60 km from Freudenstadt to Baden-Baden. The most beautiful tourist road in the Black Forest was built in 1932 and is still an attractive destination for tourists and locals alike.
Along the whole route you will catch magnificent views of the Black Forest valleys, the Rhine valley and Alsace as far as the Vosges. There are also numerous touristic highlights such as the Mummelsee lake, the Lothar trail or the wilderness trail on the Bühlerhöhe. The Black Forest National Park was opened in 2014 and mostly stretches between Ruhestein and Bühlerhöhe along the Black Forest High Road.
In winter, especially skiers get their money's worth. Thanks to the altitude between 700 and 1,164 metres, snow is almost guaranteed. Numerous ski lifts and the connection to the North Black Forest ski trail offer something for every taste.
